More than a year has passed since the revolution that erupted in Tunisia spread throughout North Africa and the Middle East including Syria. In this period, Ben Ali, Mubarak and Gaddafi have gone and with them their cruel dictatorships supported by the European Union and the United States also left the scene. And now, the developments in Syria show that, the revolution is at one of the most critical stage. While Bashar doesn’t stop killing his people, the major world powers try to take advantage of this situation. For this reason, we appeal to political organizations, trade unions and mass organizations to act solidarity with Syrians who are suffering from a ruthless dictatorship. Moreover, we invite to an international meeting in Regueb (Tunisia) on 1st of May, in order to discuss the current situation in Syria and in order to organize a solidarity campaign with Syria Revolution.

It’s not a coincidence that this meeting will take place in Regueb. More than a month ago, so-called “Friends of Syria” held a conference in order to support the imperialist plans in Tunisia. They are not friends of Syria. They are the same who supported Ben Ali and other dictators in the region with their arms and money ; and now, when the people rose up, they are trying to stop these revolutions with all the means they have. Against this policy, we aim to promote an international meeting with the organizations that support the revolution and the Syrian people in their legitimate fight, without throwing them into the jaws of imperialism.

We make an international appeal to participate this initiative in Regueb on the 1st of May. Our object is concreting our support to Syrian revolution and denouncing the imperialist intervention. We have chosen May Day as a symbolic date for the workers of the world.
